ANNE WILSON - Songs About Whiskey- Sparrow Records/Capitol CMG
Up-and-coming country songstress Anne Wilson continues to build excitement with her unique blend of country and Christian music. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter has released her second single to country radio. “Songs About Whiskey” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Sparrow Records / Capitol CMG.
Offering a perfect combination of Biblical truths and country ideals, Wilson is masterful at lending the lines of varying genres, making her a truly standout remarkable talent as she continues to transition into the eyes of new fans.
A song written about who she is as a person and as a recording artist, “Songs About Whiskey” seems to be the perfect choice to send to country radio. From its guitar-heavy, modern rock edged musical approach to its aggressively-poignant lyrics delivered through Wilson’s powerhouse vocals, this tune is one that will instantly imbed itself in the eras and minds of fans long after the first listen.
“I’ve heard songs about Jack Daniels
Songs about Jim Beam
Heard songs about one-night regrets
Neon and nicotine
I guess I’m just kinda fixed on
The only thing that’s ever fixed me
That’s why I sing songs about Jesus
Instead of singing songs about whiskey”
This song is a self-examined look at her place in the current state of country music. It’s honest, unapologetic, and irresistibly catchy.
“Songs About Whiskey” is included on ‘Rebel’, Anne’s 16-track record, which showcases her undeniable talent as a singer, songwriter, and recording artist. The Kentucky-native co-wrote all of the record’s tracks, collaborating with some of Music Row’s biggest names, including Lainey Wilson, Jaren Johnston, Emily Weisband, and Trannie Anderson, among others.
Her latest release follows “Rain In The Rearview” to country radio, and other country record teasers include “Country Gold,” “God & Country”, as well as the album’s title track, “Rebel”. In addition to CMA Fest later this week, Anne will be making appearances at fairs, festivals, and special events throughout the summer before kicking off her headlining The Rebel Tour, beginning on September 12th in Tulsa Oklahoma. Dates are currently slated through November 17th in Salem, Oregon. With an extended tour on the horizon and a brand-new tune at country radio, Anne Wilson is set to take her career to the next level in the second half of 2024.
