DARIANN LEIGH - "Bury Me On Broadway" -  Burning Ground Entertainment

It’s been a little over a year since we last heard from Dariann Leigh with her single “Blame It On Me,” but that doesn’t mean she’s been idly sitting by. Tour dates, writing, and cutting her teeth on Nashville’s Lower Broadway has all culminated into her brand-new single, “Bury Me On Broadway.”

Playing gigs on Nashville’s most famous street gives her first-hand perspective of what the bachelorette mecca is really all about, dripping transparent honesty into these lyrics as she finds solace for her heartbreak amongst the neon lit party.

With an atmospheric, though chaotic production striking your senses through the intro, the hush of Leigh’s vocal captures the perfect essence of any given night in downtown Nashville, layering the juxtaposition of uncontrollable emotions that race the gamut of feels.

Atop an ultra-modern vibe that blurs the line between modern country and pop sensibility, the tones of her voice outline the natural love-hate relationship with Nashville’s busiest street, hating that you find loving comfort in its metaphoric shoulder when you need one to lean on most.

Lamenting that she doesn’t want to meet Jesus with whiskey on her breath or any of His angels before she’s ready, Leigh is quick to outline the problematic conflict of her heartbreak, taking full responsibility for letting him go while currently drowning herself in alcohol as she watches him now moving on.

Accepting that she can’t unbreak her heart, she finds temporary relief in another shot of whiskey which adds depth to the chorus when she masterfully pulls wordsmithing creativity within idea of how her heartbreak is killing her and so her resting place needs to be with the peaceful comforting friend who has always had her back:

“So bury me on Broadway

Take away my heartache

Don’t wanna see your face

I know it’s only Monday

But baby I’m long way

From being close to okay

It’s killin’ me

Now they can say she stopped loving him today

Bury me on Broadway”

“Bury Me On Broadway” is a bit of a step into a new direction for one of country music’s most promising young talents, but it’s also an intriguing showcase of her extreme growth and incredible vulnerability as she opens her next chapter.

“Walking into the writing session for ‘Bury Me On Broadway’ the energy was electric and we ended up crafting a sad girl country version of a Morgan Wallen song,” tells Dariann!
