JELLY ROLL - I Am Not Okay - Stoney Creek Records/Republic Records

In what seems like no more than a year, Jelly Roll has gone from a new face to a household name in country music.  The multi-genre and multi-hit star is adding further excitement to his already-highly-anticipated forthcoming album with the release of his brand-new single.  “I Am Not Okay” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Stoney Creek Records.

A song of self-reflection, depressively sobering-turned-emotionally-uplifting, “I Am Not Okay” is a vulnerable insight into the thoughts and mind of not just the songwriters, but it also represents a depiction of the emotional turmoil many of us are experiencing on a daily basis.  This is a stripped-down, simplistic approach to the internal feelings of those of us toiling through the trials and tribulations of our daily lives, and sometimes they can be too much for us to simply carry on and push aside.  This song is an anecdotal reminder and lyrical assurance that it’s okay to not be okay all the time.

“I am not okay

I’m barely getting by

I’m losing track of days

And losing sleep at night

I am not okay

I’m hanging on the rails

So if I say I’m fine

Just know I learned to hide it well”

Released via BBR Music Group / BMG in partnership with Republic Records, “I Am Not Okay” is a follow-up to his Grammy-nominated hit “Save Me”, as well as his most recent single, “Halfway To Hell”, which claimed the top spot on the country radio charts this month.  The tune marked Jelly Roll’s fourth consecutive #1 song via Stoney Creek Records and 5th career chart-topper overall.  The CMA, ACM, and CMT award-winner has certainly found his niche in country music and is showing no signs of slowing down.

“I Am Not Okay” marks the first official release of new music for the Nashville native since his debut country record, ‘Whitsitt Chapel’, in June 2023.  With rumblings of a forthcoming record expected later this year, the release of a new single is set to ramp up the intensity and anticipation for a formal announcement which we hope will come soon.

Following a string of performances at some of the country’s biggest festivals as well as special guest appearances on select dates of Morgan Wallen’s One Night At A Time Tour, Jelly Roll will kick off his The Beautifully Broken Tour on August 27th, featuring Warren Zeiders and Alexandra Kay, which is currently scheduled to run through the end of October.
