LUKE BRYAN - Country Song Came On - Capitol Records Nashville

While his current radio single, “Love You, Miss You, Mean It”, continues to escalate up the country charts, Luke Bryan is unveiling a new tune as perhaps the final preview of his brand-new album, due out on September 27th.  “Country Song Came On” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Capitol Records Nashville.

Written by Ryan Beaver, Dan Alley, and Neil Medley, the track finds Bryan recalling a sequence of events that occur while driving through town after work in his truck.  After this and that, Luke finds himself staying at the bar, all thanks a country song that came on…

The multi-hit superstar continues to deviate from the bro-country anthems from years past, as he leans more toward the singer-songwriter approach to musical storytelling.  The song is simple, stripped down, but still catchy and both musically and lyrically intuitive, keeping the listener interested from start to finish.

“I was gonna drive by, wasn’t gonna stop

Then my old truck found a front row spot

Gonna drop in, but I wasn’t gonna stay

Then I heard a barstool callin’ my name

Wasn’t gonna let the bar twist my arm

But I’m helpless in a honky tonk

Said I wasn’t gonna drink

And then a country song came on”

‘Mind Of A Country Boy’ will be Bryan’s eighth studio album, set for release in just a few weeks.  To date, the country music superstar has tallied 30 #1 singles and has amassed a total of over 21 billion streams.  He has won six CMT Artist of the Year awards, NSAI Artist Songwriter of the Year, seven CMT Music Awards, five Billboard Music Awards, and four American Music Awards.

At this point in his career, Luke can cut and release whatever he wants, bringing a whole new level of honesty and vulnerability to his musical approach.  Songs like “Country Song Came On” showcase where he wants to go with his music and what we can expect from the forthcoming record.

In addition to the release of his brand-new album, Bryan is set to kick off his six-date Farm Tour 2024.  Beginning September 19th, the trek will hit farms in Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Ohio, four of which will be the first time for the five-time Entertainer of the Year.  Thousands of fans have attended the tour each year since its inception in 2009, while Luke continues to give back to the farmers by awarding college scholarships to students from farming families who are attending the local college or university near the tour stops.  To date, 83 college scholarships have been granted.

Luke’s Mind Of A Country Boy Tour is winding down this month with a few re-scheduled dates in October, while he will kick off the new year with his Crash My Playa four-date run in January.
