JOHN MORGAN - Long Ride Home - Nighttrain Records/This Is Hit, Inc.

Over the years, we have seen and heard the story of a talented and accomplished songwriter altering his/her focus to that of an artist career.  John Morgan may be the most recent and successful of this trend, as the fast-rising newcomer is adding to his career as a solo recording artist with the release of a new tune.  “Long Ride Home” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Nighttrain Records / This is Hit, Inc.

Telling the tale of a hard-working 18-wheeler truck driver making his way back home to the woman of his dreams, “Long Ride Home” is an unapologetically-honest tribute to the working-class, those of us who sacrifice time with our families to provide for them and make a better life for us all.

“It’s gonna be a long ride home

Rolling 18 wheels down an open road

Hauling a heartache and a heavy load

It’s just another long night alone

When she’s on my mind, pushing 85 never felt so slow

It’s gonna be a long ride home”

Known for his toughness and grit and his sophisticated songwriting craftmanship, Morgan puts his talents as a writer and singer on full display with his latest tune.  Steering away the clean-cut riffs and melodies of mainstream radio, the blue-collar crooner embraces his origins as a songwriter and puts that approach in the limelight as he musically pays tribute to the late-night truck driver in all of us, longing to be with the ones we love and can’t wait to get home to and make it a reality.

The release of “Long Ride Home” comes as his debut radio single, “Friends Like That”, continues to impact the charts.  Featuring superstar Jason Aldean, the party anthem has broken into the Top 30 at country radio with no signs of slowing down.  The tune was originally featured on his debut EP, ‘Remember Us?’, released in 2023.

As he readies himself for a focused run a recording artist, Morgan is already well known and established as one of Music City’s most sought-after writers, penning tunes for the likes of aforementioned Aldean, as well as Jon Pardi, Dustin Lynch, and Thomas Rhett, among others.

Morgan has a pair of dates in Maryland and Pennsylvania scheduled this month, while he continues to spend time in the studio working on a forthcoming project.
