BRYCE LEATHERWOOD - Hung Up On You - Republic Records/Mercury Records Nashville

Woodstock, GA native Bryce Leatherwood is set to release his debut single to country radio, and the song he is about to unleash on the mainstream world is a sing-along anthem that will have us all bobbing our heads and tapping our toes from start to finish.  “Hung Up On You” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Republic Records / Mercury Records Nashville.

Written by Brandon Lay, Jeff Middleton and Neil Medley, the intuitively ingenious tune emblematically croons through the debilitating effects of alcohol and love, comparing the two with an allegorically poetic approach to keep the listener guessing with every line.

Opening with a whining guitar lick alongside a thick and steady drum beat, the melody immediately catches the listener’s ear while the vibe offers sober undertones as momentum builds throughout the first verse into an outcrying chorus.  All in all, this is a hard-hitting anthem for the romantic partier in all of us.  It’s catchy, it’s fun, and it’s a hard rocker, perfect for turning up loud and letting loose.

“Keep the shades down, keep the day out

My head can’t take no more pounding

Just keep your arms around me

Stay here ‘til the haze clears

‘Cause you got what’ll get me through this

Hungover hung up on you”

Serving as the latest release from an ever-growing catalogue of music that continues to introduce the country world to who Bryce is as an artist, “Hung Up On You” bears resemblances to some of his biggest inspirations, including Eric Church and Allman Brothers.

“The second I heard ‘Hung Up On You’, I knew it was a song I had to record,” Leatherwood said.  “It just felt like me, yet it carries the influences of artists I look up to.  It felt true to all aspects of my artistry and my role models, and I’m excited for it to be my first single at Country radio.”

The Season 22 winner of ‘The Voice’ is hard at work on new music, having concluded his first-ever headlining tour, The Neon Does Tour, earlier this year.  The 24-year old has a few select dates remaining this year, including one for the books, his debut at the Grand Ole Opry on September 14th. With a hot new tune out to the masses and anticipation building for the announcement of an upcoming project hopefully following, Leatherwood is set to make his stamp on the country music world this year and for years to come.
