PRESLEY TENNANT -Pick Your Poison - Independent Release

Norco, CA native Presley Tennant continues her escalation up the ranks as one of promising young faces on the mainstream country music circuit with the release of her latest single.  “Pick Your Poison” is available now, digitally and on all streaming platforms as well on Dolby Atmos compatible devices.

Similar to her previous releases, this new track showcases Tennant’s talents as a sophisticated songwriter as well as an undeniably gifted vocalist.  This is a sultry, wavering effort, one that perfectly marries the musical arrangement to the lyrical direction from start to finish.  Paying homage to the traditional roots of the genre while also intertwining modern elements throughout, Presley infuses her California-Country style into a track that is a trademark example of what this budding star represents as a singer and songwriter.

Equally as impressive her willingness to tackle a complicated and heavy subject, focusing on life decisions, self-awareness, and consequences.

“Everyone has their vices whether it’s some whiskey, maybe a pack of smokes or even that one guy you swore you wouldn’t go for”, Tennant said.  “You know it’s not good for you but you’re still gonna take a chance at it.  Sometimes you feel good in the moment but most of the time when you ‘pick your poison’ it has a way of turning on you and now you’re the one who was left high and dry.  You were better off leaving it alone in the first place”.

The confidence portrayed through her vocal bravado is matched by her bravery to embrace the tough topics in an elegant yet unapologetically-honest manner.  The poetic lyrics are thoughtfully-mesmerizing and her vocal delivery is clean, clear, and seemingly effortless.

“When it’s tall, dark and handsome

Strongest whiskey on the shelf

You’ll feel as high as Heaven

But he’ll put your heart through hell

You think you know better

So you’re gonna let him

But girl, you’re bound to lose

Sometimes you pick your poison

But sometimes, sometimes it picks you”

It’s an honest delivery from the young songstress, who continues to grow and mature in her personal life and is emerging as a bright star on the country music circuit.  The song is well written and flawlessly delivered vocally, showcasing Presley’s undeniable range and diversity that have put her on the list of ones to watch by fans and critics alike.

Most of the music world was first introduced to Presley when she appeared on Season 16 of The Voice when she was just 16 years old.  Since then, she has worked with renowned producers Kent Wells and Buddy Hyatt, creating her own version of “California county”, and has shared the stage with the likes of Tim McGraw, Carly Pearce, and Brantley Gilbert.

“Pick Your Poison” follows the releases of “Bad Decisions” and “Somebody Like You”, both written by Tennant along with Michael Dulaney.  Baring resemblances and comparisons to the likes of Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson, Presley continues to make a name for herself as one of the faces of the future in country music with her unique sound and endless talent.
