BAILEY ZIMMERMAN - Holding On - Warner Music Nashville/Elektra Records
After debuting the song live at the Grand Ole Opry last month and teasing it on social media, Bailey Zimmerman is set to release a brand-new track, an anthem centered around resiliently overcoming adversity. “Holding On” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Warner Music Nashville.
Written by Austin Shawn and Blake Whiten, this tune falls right in the wheelhouse of where Bailey shines as an artist – tackling the deep emotions and real-life moments with an unapologetically-authentic approach to singing and performing. Embracing the struggles in a life that seems insurmountable, the narrator takes the listener on an emotional journey that reflects one personal struggles and longs for a relationship that can stand the test of time and shine through the darkness of life’s toughest times.
“No matter who you are or where you’re at in life, everybody goes through hard times,” Zimmerman said. “I hope this song reminds you guys to keep going when you’re faced with adversity because you never know what tomorrow may have in store for you. “KEEP GOING, KEEPING HOLDING ON.”
A multi-platinum genre phenomenon at this point, Zimmerman has found his niche in the genre, and this latest single serves as a continuation of his escalation from exciting new artist to country superstar. His creative lyrical ingenuity and raspy, weathered vocal delivery have become representative of his trademark sound, which country fans, young and old, continue to swoon over with every new release.
His ability to add drama to an already emotionally-written song is incredibly well-represented here. For such a young singer-songwriter, this is virtually unprecedented, remarkably unique, and should be appreciated. In such a short time since first exploding on the scene, Zimmerman has already proven himself to be one of the most talented singer-songwriters we have in country music.
“Will you be strong and keep holding on?
If this was your last breath, would you waste it on me?
Stick around when I’m in the dark
Be the angel that comes down and picks up my heart
When it’s all wrong, can we be strong?
And keep holding on”
Ahead of the release of “Holding On”, Bailey was surprised with a plaque to commemorate the achievement of tallying over one billion streams on Pandora. Following “New To Country”, his release from this past summer, this latest track comes as Zimmerman has followed his wildly-popular “Religiously. The Tour’ headlining run with special guest appearances on the sold out shows with Morgan Wallen and Luke Bryan through the summer and into the fall.
Zimmerman made history with ‘Religiously. The Album’, which became the biggest streaming country debut of all time. The collection features three consecutive multi-platinum, No. 1 country radio singles – “Religiously”, “Fall In Love”, and the No. 1 most played song on country radio from 2023, “Rock And A Hard Place”. Additional hits for the young star include “Where It Ends” and “Holy Smokes”, each of which adding to his ever-growing music catalogue as he continues to evolve into one of the most popular and respected singer-songwriters in the country music mainstream.
