PRISCILLA BLOCK - He's My Man - Mercury Nashville

Priscilla Block has demanded attention of the country music world since her debut with her fun-loving party rockers and no-nonsense outspoken anthems.  Now, the talented songstress is back with something we have not heard from her previously to date – a love song.  “He’s My Man” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Mercury Nashville.

Embracing her softer side, Block puts forth a fun ballad devoted to anyone who wants to show off and give credit to their man.  Speaking to the song, Priscilla described the song as a tribute to the hardworking guys out there:

“I hope the bule-collar boys love it”.

Over the course of her young but promisingly successful career, Priscilla Block’s music has embodied some constants as well as a few elements of evolution.  Whether she’s letting loose via a raucous party anthem or crooning her way through a bitter breakup ballad, her unapologetic, “this is me” demeanor shines through on every track.  One of her most likable traits is the acknowledgement that life is not perfect, and she embraces the ebbs and flows of life and love in a manner that relates to fans of all ages and backgrounds.

What Block has done on this song, as she has done with all of her music, is showcase her ability to let her personality present itself at multiple periods throughout.  From the lyrics to the vocals to the embedded passion behind the delivery, this song is 100% Priscilla Block, albeit showing a more sentimental, sensitive, and appreciate side, which is why it will be so well-received by fans across the spectrum.

“He’s a little Waylon Jennings on a Friday night

Mess with me, you’re gonna see him fight

He’s a don’t quit ‘til the job’s done

If you need a cold beer, bet you he’s got one

He’ll give you that shirt right off his back

The Bible and his mama taught him how to act

To anybody else he’s just a small town, settle down

Nothin’ but a good old boy

But he’s my man”

The release of “He’s My Man” follows “Good On You”, “Hey, Jack”, and fan favorite “Apartment” as tunes that have catapulted Block to a mainstay on the country music platform consistently throughout the year.

It feels like ages ago that Block was an aspiring singer-songwriter who had just arrived in Nashville from her native Raleigh, NC in hopes of achieving her dream of becoming a country music artist.  The release of her full-length album, ‘Welcome To The Block Party’, in February 2022 transformed her into one of the brightest young stars in the genre.  Now, less than three years later, it’s difficult to find a faster-rising success story.
