LOCASH - When I'm Older - Galaxy Label Group
Known for their smash hits “One Big Country Song,” “I Know Somebody,” and “I Love This Life,” Platinum selling duo LOCASH has stepped into their next chapter in a very BIG way, landing in the Top 10 with their hot rising single “Hometown Home” and now kicking off the new year with their latest release.
“When I’m Older” is available on all streaming and digital platforms via Galaxy Label Group.
Though certainly a duo with a crafty know-how for igniting the party mode as they’ve most recently shown on “Buzzin’,” the softer pace we’ve been getting from them as they mature into this current era expertly matches the heartfelt sincerity of each lyric as they reach out and tug the heartstrings of long-tenured couples.
Written by LOCASH’s Chris Lucas and Preston Brust with Seth Ennis and Matt Alderman, “When I’m Older” embraces the idea of looking forward to a fruitful life together, making every moment count as she continually softens his edges while his heartbeat skips for every snapshot memory they make.
Envisioning that as they continually grow as one unit how their love story will become the living breathing proof that forever can be accomplished, he passionately glides how he couldn’t imagine a life without her, professes that she’s his whole world, and hopes that every kiss they share will always feel like that magical first one.
Wrapped in a gentle warmth instrumentally that brings together subtle floats of fiddle, steel, and acoustic guitars, the chorus places their signature harmonies alongside a heart fluttering melody as it maps out the forever plan to always live and love like they’re still kids no matter how old they may be.
“I want to love, like 21
Like a couple kids still on the run
Like we ain’t even close to being done
Through every moon and every sun
I want to hold her when I’m older”
“I feel this song is one of the most intimate and greatest songs we have written as LOCASH,” shares Lucas. “My wife’s grandparents have been married over 60 years. And to this day he still picks a flower for her every morning. We all dream about a love like that.”
Though the song was released on Valentines Day and is certainly fitting for the essence of that calendar placement, with the start of the wedding season now fast approaching, expect to find “When I’m Older” atop many big day playlists.
