It has been two years since Jon Pardi released a full-length studio album, but the country music star continues to generate buzz surrounding his forthcoming project and the wait is finally almost over.  And to provide us all with a preview of the upcoming album, the California native has released a brand-new track to the masses.  “She Drives Away” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Capitol Records Nashville.

Written by Zach Abend, Jimi Bell, Seth Ennis, and Jordan Minton, the slow-tempo, emotionally-driven ballad depicts and describes the journey of a father witnessing his daughter grow up and letting her go.

“’She Drives Away’ is a song I knew I was going to record immediately,” Pardi said.  “I think most dads of daughters will relate to it, but it reminded me so much of Summer and my journey.  From when we started dating, to asking her dad for her hand in marriage, and then having our daughters.  Now, I’ll go through it from the other side with my daughters.  It’s a special song, and I’m really excited for people to hear it.”

“She Drives Away” follows the trend of releases by Pardi in recent years, offering sweet, sentimental lyrical numbers alongside a simple, catchy (albeit slow) beat that blurs the lines between traditional and modern country music.

The result is sure to be an instant fan favorite, one that will surely rank as one of the more successful of his releases to date.  The song is commonly good – it doesn’t break new ground with the beat, melody, lyrics, or subject matter…but it is undeniably relatable and is a well-written tune that will undoubtedly find its way onto playlists and setlists.

Serving as the final preview of ‘HONKYTONK HOLLYWOOD,’ his fifth studio album set for an April 11^th release, “She Drives Away” follows “Love The Lights Out” as well as lead single “Friday Night Heartbreaker”. 

The California native is set to take his career to the next level with this new album, and it has plenty large shoes to fill.  With four Top 5 albums, including 2016’s Platinum No. 1 ‘California Sunrise’, Pardi has slated fourteen RIAA-certified singles as well as six No 1’s, including the 6x Platinum “Head Over Boots” and “Dirt On My Boots”.  To date, the hit-maker has tallied over 9.3 billion global streams.

After headlining shows in the US and Australia this spring, Pardi will kick off his “Honkytonk Hollywood Tour” on April 25, hitting arenas and amphitheaters across the US with support from Corey Kent on select dates and Kassi Ashton.
