Both Kasey Tyndall and Dylan Marlowe made tremendous strides in 2022, placing themselves on a higher plane as they continuously released great new material and used every live show and touring opportunity to solidify their places as artists to watch.

The two now kick off 2023 by combining their efforts on, “Place For Me.”

The softer paced ballad, co-written by Tyndall, Jason Gantt, Jason Nix, and Jenna Lamaster, paints a picture-perfect vision of what they hope heaven will look like for them and their redneck blood, while writing it out lyrically in such a clever way that it also masterfully encompasses a vision of it for down-home, country folk.

Tyndall has shared that the idea is inspired by the book of Matthew, Chapter 6 Verses 19-20:

“Jesus warned us about this when He said, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal”

In the verses…Kasey asks what’s the difference between Jesus drinking wine and her drinking cold beer and confesses that she often gets lost while trying to walk the straight and narrow, while Marlowe envisions heaven as being a place where tractor’s never break down, the whole thing’s like a hometown, and you could hunt all year long.

The chorus punches their redneck paradise ticket as they bring their voices together in perfect harmony to sing about it being a place where their first Chevy is waiting on them, the best seat in the house is a deer stand, etc.

The truth is that we all read the Bible differently and if we’re being honest, none of us are right and none of us are wrong. We read it in way that it speaks loudly to us in this moment so that it applies to our everyday life.

As such, we will often find ourselves musing about heaven and what it will be like for us, and that’s exactly where this song reaches through the speakers to resonate with the listener’s own thoughts and vision of it.

While many songs of his nature come across as way too serious and quite a bit stuffy in their description of what makes heaven so glorious, Tyndall and Marlowe use “Place For Me” to give heaven a hometown feel like we all want to experience and be part of, while indirectly reminding us to cherish our little pieces of heaven on earth because they will be a large part of what makes the actual heaven so exquisite when our time comes.
